Studying workflows to increase investor efficiency
The data science team at NVP had previously created an internal investor platform to improve investor sourcing workflows, and struggled with adoption of the platform. I worked with investors to better understand their workflows and worked with cross-functional partners to launch of a full redesign of the platform based on comprehensive research.

As the sole designer on the team I was responsible for the following:
Creating comprehensive quantitative and qualitative research plans to gather insights from investors of all levels
Allowed us to create features in the platform that appealed to a wide range of user needs
Synthesizing research for the data science team and presenting findings to operations and senior partners
Greater design and research advocacy helped secure more funding and resources for our team
Conducting workflow research with investors to understand pain points in their overall process
Workflow research was a pivotal asset because it allowed us to integrate into the investor’s process, which decreased barriers to adoption by integrating the platform into previously defined workflows
Used insights from research to make changes to previous platform
Designed a priority focused landing page that did not exist before to support Investors in prioritization of tasks
Improved visual design of review pages to increase ease of scanning for information and navigation
Decreased amount of actions needed to complete a task within the platform by 50% in some workflows
Created an integrated reminder system so investors would receive notifications in their email, which is where they spent most of their time completing tasks
Worked closely with our developer throughout the process to be able to launch continuous updates
Designed training materials and support documents to be shared with investors and their teams upon launch of new platform
Launching a completely redesigned platform after working with teams in multiple sectors allowed me to learn how to communicate effectively and with impact, better understand development processes, and how to manage a project through many phases and iterative launches.
